For this month's blog we decided to get to know Dr. Melinda better!

What made you want to become a dentist?
I come from a dental family- both my father and brother are dentists too so I have always been around the profession and fell in love with it!

Where did you go to school?
I grew up in Flossmoor where I attended Marian Catholic for high school. Following that I went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I received a B.S. in Biology.  For my dental degree I attended Marquette University’s School of Dentistry.

If you weren’t a dentist what would you want to do for a living?
I’ve always wanted to be in healthcare in some way, shape, or form so I’m sure it would be something in the medical field instead.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in dentistry?
Definitely practicing during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, our team has been a great support system and have been awesome with implementing our safety protocols!

What is your favorite part of working in the dental field?
I love being able to help people smile! There’s nothing more rewarding than being able to help others!

What do you like to do in your time away from the office?
Travel, watch sports, volunteer, and spend time with my family and friends.
